Seminario: Política Fiscal y Comercial de Estados Unidos y su Impacto en Ecuador

Date: Wednesday, June 25Time: 08:30 – 10:00Location: AMCHAM Quito (Av. 6 de Diciembre and La Niña, Edif. Multicentro, 4th Floor)

Decisions on tariffs and fiscal policies adopted by the United States often have a direct impact on international trade and the competitiveness of Ecuadorian producers and exporters. In this context, it is essential to analyze the new policies implemented by the U.S. government to anticipate risks—such as increased import costs or changed certification requirements—and, at the same time, identify market opportunities that may arise from bilateral agreements or adjustments in the value chain.

To this end, Meythaler & Zambrano Abogados, in collaboration with AMCHAM Quito – Ecuador, has organized a specialized seminar that will provide a legal and economic overview of the current U.S. tariff measures and their impact on Ecuador.

2. Objective

To analyze, from a legal and economic perspective, the impact of the new tariff policies implemented by the United States and their repercussions on Ecuador’s business environment, regulatory framework, and investment climate. The aim is to identify the main challenges and opportunities facing productive sectors, as well as the role of Ecuadorian legislation in the face of global changes.

This approach encompasses both a review of the most recent tariff provisions and an examination of how Ecuadorian companies can adjust their legal and fiscal structures to:

  • Comply with new import and export requirements.

  • Reduce costs associated with the entry of U.S. products.

  • Adapt international sales contracts, logistics arrangements, and cargo insurance.

  • Strengthen direct investment and joint venture strategies in the U.S. market.

3. Speaker
